Abstract

As China's population growth slows and aging accelerates, labor market demands are undergoing restructuring, creating new and urgent adaptation requirements for undergraduate vocational education curricula. This paper briefly examines how three demographic trends-population aging, declining student enrollment, and cross-regional population mobility-impact undergraduate vocational education curricula. It proposes forward-looking suggestions for adapting undergraduate vocational education curricula to demographic shifts across four dimensions: forward-thinking professional course structure planning, dynamic course content updates and feedback mechanisms, prospective innovation in teaching models, and lifelong learning curricula. This aims to foster alignment and coordination between the curriculum system, demographic shifts, and labor market demands, offering valuable insights for advancing the high-quality development of undergraduate vocational education.
